WHAT IS A GLIDER KIT?
A rolling glider kit is a new cab and chassis with rear axles and without an engine, transmission or accessorial parts.We install one of our pre emission engines, reman Eaton Fuller transmission and all other necessary components in our Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner and Western Star Glider Kits. The standard truck we keep in stock and order is basic owner-operator and fleet specifications and can be modified.
Glider Kits have been around for almost 50 years and are used for a number of applications, both on and off the highway. Gliders are less expensive than new trucks and offer a more economical option for fleets and owner/operators to maintain the reliability of their commercial trucking operations. The reused drivetrain components constitute approximately 30-50% of the value of a new truck, which generates significant cost savings for small businesses and owner-operators. With improved aerodynamics and low rolling resistance tires on trucks assembled from glider kits, these rebuilt vehicles actually have better fuel efficiency than when they were new. Wrecked or otherwise damaged trucks can be put back on the road economically by placing the undamaged powertrain components in a new cab/chassis.

Some modifications we offer include shortening the frame or wheelbase, custom paint options, changing tires, adding accessories or chrome, and much more.
WHAT TYPE OF WARRANTIES DO YOU OFFER ON YOUR ENGINES?
We install rebuilt Detroit 12.7 Liter 60 series engines. The Detroit engine includes a 3 Year/300,000 mile structured warranty, we also offer several upgrades to our standard warranty. The warranties are provided by Fitzgerald Glider Kits and are honored nationwide by our vendors. Fitzgerald’s understands the importance of keeping your truck up and running and make every effort to work with your repair facility to get you back on the road. We also have our own repair facility on-site that can perform warranty repairs as well as general service repairs.
WHAT TYPE OF WARRANTY IS OFFERED ON YOUR TRANSMISSIONS?
We install re-manufactured transmissions from Eaton Fuller. They include a 3YR/unlimited mileage warranty provided by Eaton Fuller. This warranty is honored nationwide at any authorized Eaton Fuller dealer.
REAR AXLE WARRANTY?
All our gilders have factory installed rears and are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Peterbilt has a 5 year 750k mile warranty, Kenworth has a 3 year 750k mile warranty, Freightliner has a 3 year 300k warranty.
WHAT ABOUT THE WARRANTY ON THE CAB?
The cab, front suspension, lights, and accessories include a 1 year / 100,000 mile nationwide warranty provided by chassis manufacturer & and accepted at authorized OEM dealer. *Read warranty documents for complete and accurate account of exact parts and components included in warranty package.
CAN YOU HELP WITH FINANCING?
Absolutely! We work with many major lenders enabling us to get you the best possible finance options – we do not offer in house financing. Please call or email us to request a credit application or you can download one under the Financing tab on our website.
WHAT'S THE DOWN PAYMENT?
When ordering a Fitzgerald Glider Kit a deposit is required on all orders, in most cases the deposit is put towards the down payment. Some purchasers may qualify for 0% down from their lender in which case the deposit would be returned to the customer.
HOW IS A GLIDER KIT TITLED WHEN I BUY IT?
All Fitzgerald glider kits will be titled in the state of Tennessee and you will receive a title to transfer to your state.
